AGNI-Undergraduate (UG) Fellowship Program -2024

Objective

The AGNI UG Fellowship program at IPTIF is designed to provide undergraduate students with a unique opportunity to participate in cutting-edge translational research and development projects in the field of Cyber Physical Systems and related domains under the National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber Physical Systems ( NM-ICPS) . Special thematic focus areas include Intelligent Collaborative Systems (ICS) for addressing challenges in Energy and Safety sectors majorly, among others like Automotives, Defense, Healthcare, and Agriculture.

Duration

The short-term fellowship program has a duration of 3 to 6 months.

Monthly Fellowships

AGNI UG fellows shall receive fellowship upto INR 10,000/month for 3-6 months

Eligibility

Undergraduate students ( Individuals or Team) from B.Tech/BE/B.Sc or any other relevant STEM stream from a recognized Indian University / Educational institution are eligible to apply.

Additional requirements include:

  • Completion of at least 2 semesters in the UG course
  • One main applicant, who will receive the fellowship, If you are applying as a student team
  • Students should not be receiving any other scholarship/fellowship from government funds, during the period of the fellowship.
  • Proposed technology development Project along with a supervisor in the focus area of IPTIF (Ref Sect 5.0 & 6 for details)

Focus Area

Modeling, analysis, control, devices, networks, robotics, data and simulations are all building blocks of CPS technologies. Intelligent collaboration of these building blocks (Intelligent Collaborative Systems (ICS) for developing technologies & products having applications in the fields of energy, safety and other sectors Energy, Safety, Automotives, Defense, Healthcare, Agriculture etc. is the major focus area of IPTIF.

Technology Development Project Proposal

UG applicants are encouraged to present a scalable and innovative original technology development proposal supported by a supervisor* from academia, R&D Institution, Startup or Industry.

*You need a letter of support and short profile of the Academic/ R&D or Industrial supervisor to be attached to the Google form.

Applications can be submitted through the AGNI-UG Fellowship Application. The application should include:

Evaluation Process and Criteria

Only shortlisted Applicants after the initial screening will be intimated.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to make a presentation of the idea to an expert committee

The broad evaluation criteria are:

  • Proposal Quality, alignment to IPTIF focus areas and Relevance:
    • Evaluation of the depth, quality, and relevance of the submitted proposal, considering research methodology, objectives, and proposed outcomes.
  • Potential for Real-World Impact:
    • Review of the proposed project's potential to create tangible, positive contributions in practical, real-world scenarios.
    • Feasibility, Scalability, Practicality of the proposed idea.
