Brief Details

Complex networks are robust to random failures owing to the topological features like small-worldness and scale-free nature. But they are quite vulnerable to targeted attacks. The resilience of complex networks towards different node-targeted attacks is studied immensely in the literature. Analysing very large and dense graphs with tools of network science is a challenging task. So we need some preprocessing techniques to reduce the number of connections. Weight thresholding is a simple technique to reduce the number of edges. While performing weight thresholding, one must ensure that there is no drastic change in the key features of the system. We investigate the effect of weight thresholding on the robustness of the networks to different node attack strategies.
